Daily Financial Market Report for September 24, 2020

Bullish trend still persists…ASI Increases by 79 Basis Points
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed bullish as the benchmark All Share Index (ASI) increased by 0.79% from 25,783.02 to close at 25,987.14. Market Capitalization increased by N106 billion to close at N13.58 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns settled at -3.19%.
Sectors performance was broadly bullish
Performance across sectors was broadly bullish as three sectors closed in the green zone today. The Consumer Goods, Banking and Industrial indices increased by 2.09%, 1.59% and 0.86% respectively, owing to buy interests recorded in the shares of Nb (10.00%), Dangsugar (2.88%) and Flourmill (0.75%); Access (3.17%), Ucap (2.24%), Fbnh (2.00%) and Guaranty (1.96%); Wapco (6.82%), Fidson (0.86%). However, Oil & Gas and Insurance declined by 0.68% and 0.18% due to sell interests in the shares of Ardova (-9.65%) amongst others.
NASD Market
The NASD market was bearish after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) decreased by 0.55% to 723.01. Consequently, Market Capitalization declined by 0.55% to N531.01 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate volume increased by 2.06% while value improved by 351.62%. Investors traded a total of 1,031,580 units of shares valued at N10,293,794.00 in 5 deals. The traded securities today includes; Wamco Plc, NDEP Plc and Food CPT.
