Daily Financial Market Report for September 29, 2020

Bullish Trend Continues…ASI surged by 39 Basis Points

The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed bullish as the benchmark All Share Index (ASI) increased by 0.39% from 26,507.84 to close at 26,611.96. Market Capitalization increased by N54 billion to close at N13.90 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD) closed at -0.86% from -1.25%.

Sectors performance was significantly bullish

Performance across sectors was significantly bullish. All five sectors closed in the green zone today; Industrial, Banking, Oil & Gas, Insurance and  Consumer Goods indices increased by 0.83%, 0.40%, 0.26%, 0.24% and 0.07% respectively, owing to buy interests recorded in the shares of Buacement  (3.34%) and Vitafoam (0.84%); Sterlnbank (2.52%) and Zenithbank (1.16%); Seplat (0.50%) and Oando (0.45%); Aiico (6.33%) and Mansard (3.26%); Honyflour (2.22%) and Dangsugar (1.63%) amongst others..

NASD Market

The NASD market was bullish after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.35% to 735.65. Consequently, Market Capitalization improved by 0.35% to N540.39 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate volume climbed by 5,835.55% while value surged by 11,199.04%. Investors traded a total of 2,213,010 units of shares valued at N472,610,155.60 in 13 deals. Four securities traded on the USI today, namely; Wamco Plc, Afriland Plc, NDEP Plc and CSCS Plc.
