proceedings in the market today. The benchmark All Share Index (ASI) depreciated
by 0.36% to close at 37,857.89. Similarly, Market Capitalization decreased by 71
billion to close at N19.72 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns settled at –
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Agriculture and Consumer goods sector. Some of today’s
market losers include: while CWG (-9.52%), INTBREW (-5.66%), FBNH (-2.60%),
MANSARD (-2.25%), ZENITHBANK (-2.20%), ETI (-1.92%), PZ (-1.69%),
GLAXOSMITH (-1.60%), WAPCO (-1.15%), BUACEMENT (-0.70%), MTNN (-0.61%),
and HONYFLOUR (-0.61%) amongst others.
The NASD market closed Positive after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) increased by 2.25% to close at 761.13. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at N541.02 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
volume increased by 83.34% while value increased by 286.33%. Investors traded a
total of 2,533,744 units of shares valued at N96 million in 39 deals.
