The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Flat. The benchmark All Share Index
(ASI) depreciated by 0.01% to close at 37,866.90. Market Capitalization decreased
by 2.94 Billion to close at N19.72 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns settled
at –5.97%
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Agriculture and Consumer goods sector. Some of today’s
market losers include: IKEJAHOTEL (-9.29%), UPDC (-9.09%), WAPIC (-8.47%), NB (-
3.33%), VITAFOAM (-2.91%), MANSARD (-1.14%), DANGSUGAR (-1.12%), FBNH (-
0.69%), STERLNBNK (-0.64%) and GTCO (-0.51%) amongst others.

The NASD market closed Positive after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.27% to close at 763.51. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at 663.63 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
volume increased by 461.85% while value increased by 2,333.07%. Investors traded
a total of 12,369,594 units of shares valued at N935 million in 51 deals.
