The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Negative. The benchmark All Share
Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.32% to close at 38,801.51. Market Capitalization
decreased by 65 Billion to close at N20.216 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD)
returns settled at –3.65%.
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Industrial and Consumer goods sector. Some of today’s
market losers include: ARDOVA (-6.25%), AIICO (-2.06%), WAPIC (-1.92%), MTNN (-
1.75%), UCAP (-1.47%), GTCO (-1.23%), ACCESS (-1.09%), TRANSCORP (-1.06%),
NEM (-0.99%), ZENITHBANK (-0.41%) and OANDO (-0.22%) amongst others.

The NASD market closed Positive after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) advanced by 0.05% to close at 753.47. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at 654.89 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
volume decreased by 57.37% while value decreased by 86.40%. Investors traded a
total of 5,742,159 units of shares valued at N18 million in 16 deals.
