The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Negative. The benchmark All Share
Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.09% to close at 39,184.18. Market Capitalization
decreased by 18.46 Billion to close at N20.415 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD)
returns settled at –2.70%.
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Industrial and Consumer goods sector. Some of today’s
market losers include: FTNCOCOA (-8.77%), UPDC (-4.84%), JAIZBANK (-4.76%),
WEMABANK (-4.65%), HONYFLOUR (-4.21%), NB (-2.93%), UACN (-1.82%), ACCESS
(-1.10%), FBNH (-0.67%), DANGSUGAR (-0.56%) and OANDO (-0.45%) amongst
others.
