NGX All Share Index closes on a Negative note… ASI loses 38 Basis Point
The Nigerian Exchange Limited Bourse closed Negative. The benchmark All Share
Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.38% to close at 42,008.60. Market Capitalization
decreased by 83.13 billion to close at N21.92 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD)
returns settled at 4.32%.
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Industrial and Consumer Goods. Some of today’s market
losers include: WAPCO (-9.94%), VITAFOAM (-8.68%), FIDELITYBK (-5.60%), AIICO (-
5.41%), UBA (-5.06%), UNILEVER (-4.00%), UNITYBNK (-3.92%), DANGSUGAR (-
3.13%), TRANSCORP (-3.06%), ACCESS (-2.25%), HONYFLOUR (-1.14%), FBNH (-
0.85%), GTCO (-0.62%) and UCAP (-0.51%) amongst others.
The NASD market closed Flat after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.00% to close at 745.44. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at 615.86 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
volume decreased by 93.23% while value decreased by 98.41%. Investors traded a
