NGX All Share Index closes on a Negative note… ASI loses 9 Basis Points

The Nigerian Exchange Limited Bourse closed Negative. The benchmark All Share
Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.09% to close at 43,859.30. Market Capitalization
decreased by 20.38 billion to close at N23.63 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD)
returns settled at 2.68%.
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Industrial and Consumer Goods. Some of today’s market
losers include MBENEFIT (-10.00%), BERGER (-9.94%), NESTLE (-7.81%), UNITYBNK
(-6.12%), NB (-5.21%), NGXGROUP (-4.30%), UNILEVER (-4.29%), STERLNBANK (-
1.91%), UBA (-1.82%), WAPCO (-0.96%), UCAP (-0.88%), DANGCEM (-0.38%) and
GTCO (-0.20%) amongst others.

The NASD market closed Flat after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.00% to close at 751.14. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at 636.05 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
