Daily Market Report for August 31, 2022

• The Nigerian Exchange Limited Bourse closed Positive. The benchmark All Share Index (ASI) appreciated by 0.39% to close at 49,836.51 pts. Market Capitalization increased by 104.54 billion to close at N26.88 trillion and the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns settled at 16.67%.
• Performance across sectors was broadly Bullish as 4 out of 5 sectors closed in the green zone. Banking, Consumer Goods, Industrial and Oil/Gas indices advanced by 0.62%, 1.80%, 0.37% and 0.33% respectively. While Insurance index declined by 0.10%.
• Market activity measured by aggregate volume increased by 191.66% and value increased by 5.35%. Investors traded a total of 367 million units of shares valued at N3.24 billion in 3,725 deals.
