Daily Financial Market Report for September 28, 2020

All sectors closed in the green zone…ASI surged by 72 Basis Points
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed bullish as the benchmark All Share Index (ASI) increased by 0.72% from 26,319.34 to close at 26,507.84. Market Capitalization increased by N98 billion to close at N13.85 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD) closed at -1.25% from -1.95%.
Sectors performance was significantly bullish
Performance across sectors was significantly bullish. All five sectors closed in the green zone today; Oil & Gas, Insurance, Consumer Goods, Industrial and Banking indices increased by 1.33%, 1.02%, 0.53%, 0.53% and 0.26% respectively, owing to buy interests recorded in the shares of Total (10.00%) and Oando (9.85%); Mbenefit (5.00%) and Chiplc (8.82%); Champion (9.88%) and Intbrew (8.33%); Wapco (6.31%) and Buacement (4.80%); Fbnh (3.88%) and Ubn (3.00%) amongst others.
NASD Market
The NASD market was bullish after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.07% to 733.11. Consequently, Market Capitalization improved by 0.07% to N538.52 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate volume surged by 645.68% while value increased by 508.40%. Investors traded a total of 37,284 units of shares valued at N4,182,747.34 in 7 deals. Three securities traded on the USI today, namely; Wamco Plc, UBN prop and CSCS Plc.
