Week starts in the Green Zone…ASI increased by 211 Basis Points
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed bullish as the benchmark All Share Index (ASI) increased by 2.11% from 26,985.77to close at 27,554.56. Market Capitalization increased by N297 billion to close at N14.40 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD) closed at 2.65% from 0.54%.
Sectors performance was significantly bullish
Performance across sectors was significantly bullish. All five sectors on the NSE closed in the green zone today; Banking, Insurance, Oil and Gas, Consumer Goods and Industrial indices increased by 3.37%, 2.04%, 0.84%, 0.38% and 0.38% respectively, owing to buy interests recorded in the shares of Fbnh (6.73%) and Zenithbank (5.82%); Wapic (8.33%) and Cornerst (8.33%); Seplat (2.50%); Dangsugar (2.33 %) and Honeyflour (2.15%); Glaxosmith (10.00%) and Jberger (0.31%); amongst others.
NASD Market
The NASD market was bearish after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted Securities Index (USI) waned by 1.02% to 734.39. Consequently, Market Capitalization declined by 1.02% to N533.98 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate volume increased by 126.92% while value decreased by 49.75%. Investors traded a total of 64,491 units of shares valued at N3,869,840.00 in 6 deals. Three securities traded on the USI today, namely; Wamco Plc, NDEP Plc and CSCS Plc.
