Equities market closes on a Negative note… ASI loses 12 Basis Point

The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Negative. The benchmark All Share
Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.12% to close at 39,204.52. Market Capitalization
decreased by 24.37 Billion to close at N20.426 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD)
returns settled at –2.65%.
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Industrial and Consumer goods sector. Some of today’s
market losers include: SCOA (-9.72%), INTBREW (-4.00%), GTCO (-1.99%), UPDC (-
1.67%), ETI (-0.95%), FIDELITYBK (-0.85%), ZENITHBANK (-0.83%), STERLNBANK (-
0.64%), STANBIC (-0.51%), UACN (-0.47%) and CUTIX (-0.42%) amongst others.

NASD Market
The NASD market closed Positive after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) advanced by 0.15% to close at 733.35. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at 637.40 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
volume decreased 26.75% while value decreased by 31.89%. Investors traded a total
of 1,174,500 units of shares valued at N18.85 million in 16 deals.
