NGX All Share Index closes on a Negative note… ASI loses 9 Basis Point

The Nigerian Exchange Limited Bourse closed Negative. The benchmark All Share
Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.09% to close at 43,270.94. Market Capitalization
decreased by 19.49 billion to close at N22.58 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD)
returns settled at 7.45%.
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Industrial and Consumer Goods. Some of today’s market
losers include: UPDC (-9.92%), INTBREW (-4.00%), WAPIC (-4.00%), OANDO (-
2.78%), PZ (-1.64%), FCMB (-1.64%), FIDELITY (-1.57%), PRESCO (-1.24%), UBA (-
1.23%), MANSARD (-0.90%), FBNH (-0.83%), ZENITHBANK (-0.62%), FLOURMILL (-
0.34%) and GTCO (-0.20%) amongst others.

The NASD market closed Positive after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.17% to close at 746.13. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at 616.44 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
