Daily Market Report for August 17, 2022
| The Nigerian Exchange Limited Bourse closed Flat. The benchmark All Share Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.04% to close at 49,691.17 pts. Market Capitalization decreased by 9.87 billion to close at N26.80 trillion and the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns settled at 16.33%.Performance across sectors was broadly bearish as 3 out of 5 sectors closed in the red zone. Banking, Consumer Goods and Oil/Gas indices declined by 0.21%, 0.07% and 0.15% respectively. Insurance index advanced by 0.86%. While Industrial index remained unchanged.Market activity measured by aggregate volume decreased by 36.92% while value increased by 151.45%. Investors traded a total of 129 million units of shares valued at N4.12 billion in 3,492 deals. |
