Daily Market Report for August 22, 2022

• The Nigerian Exchange Limited Bourse closed Flat. The benchmark All Share Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.05% to close at 49,344.67 pts. Market Capitalization decreased by 13.99 billion to close at N26.61 trillion and the Year-to-Date (YtD) returns settled at 15.52%.
• Performance across sectors was broadly bearish as 3 out of 5 sectors closed in the red zone. Banking, Insurance and Oil/Gas indices declined by 0.69%, 0.11% and 0.07% respectively. While Consumer Goods and Industrial indices advanced by 0.07% and 0.02% respectively.
• Market activity measured by aggregate volume decreased by 7.18% and value decreased by 19.97%. Investors traded a total of 123 million units of shares valued at N1.30 billion in 3,915 deals.
