The Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed Negative. The benchmark All Share
Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.38% to close at 40,714.00. Market Capitalization
decreased by 80.44 Billion to close at N21.22 trillion while the Year-to-Date (YtD)
returns settled at 1.10%.
What shaped today’s market direction?
Today’s market direction can be largely attributed to losses recorded in large and
mid-cap stocks in Banking, Industrial and Consumer goods sector. Some of today’s
market losers include: SOVRENINS (-8.33%), NB (-6.06%), HONYFLOUR (-3.09%),
STERLNBANK (-2.61%), STANBIC (-2.56%), BUACEMENT (-2.50%), GTCO (-2.10%),
TRANSCORP (-2.06%), GUINNESS (-1.86%), FBNH (-1.02%) and MANSARD (-0.43%)
amongst others.

The NASD market closed Positive after today’s trading activities as the Unlisted
Securities Index (USI) increased by 0.39% to close at 740.70. Consequently, Market
Capitalization closed at 611.95 billion. Market activity measured by aggregate
volume decreased 14.84% while value increased by 4.64%. Investors traded a total
of 285,650 units of shares valued at N5.06 million in 11 deals.
